I went to a conference on Saturday. It was about hearing the voice of God. I know I hear Him but I was excited to hear more. This was the first time Adventures had ever invited people from the community into their space. I didn’t know what to expect, but I was certainly expecting something.
There are so many things I could write about, like what God showed me, or what each person heard from God that spoke, but I want to tell you how I was encouraged and what the body of Christ taught me.
We started off with worship, really good worship led by a former squad mate, Shelley. This space was provided for us to journal, pray, and ask God what he wanted us to hear. To quiet our own thoughts, voices of the enemy, and lies we were believing. During this time I asked God what he wanted me to hear and he told me he adored me, what a sweet word. I sat on the floor and soaked it all in, everything He wanted to share with me. After worship we were asked to share what God spoke to us or showed us in a vision.
Several people spoke. What really stuck out to me was the fact that He gave several people the same images, or the same feelings, or same words. They started speaking out what they heard and when asked how many other people resinated with it, hands went up all over the room. This happened all day, the more I sat back and really allowed it all to sink in, the more I couldn’t control my eyes from leaking. The Holy Spirit was in us and God really used that space to speak to all of us.
How does God speak to you? If he does, do you share it with other people? You know he can use you to encourage someone else. I often think the things God speaks to me about is just for me. That day changed the way I think about God’s voice. I hope you share what you’ve been encouraged with. I hope you share the struggles you’re going through. I hope you share about the lies you’re believing about yourself. We are meant to be a community that encourages one another. How can we encourage someone if we don’t know how they hear from God or what they’re believing that isn’t true. Share with someone today. Encourage someone. You’ll be blessed, I promise.
I am fully funded for my first semester of CGA. You guys ROCK!!!!
I am only 81% away from being fully funded in my second semester in Guatemala. If you attended the mission board dinner at Linesville First Baptist, it was great seeing some of you!
If you want to be part of my prayer team, I’m still looking for more people, I’ll send you bi-weekly prayer updates. Comment on this post with your email address, email me, or any way you can think to get ahold of me. Prayer support is something I value to the max, the fact that people are willing to take time out of their day to pray for me just overwhelms me. I see this as a partnership, I want to pray for you as well.
